May Day & Lei Day. May 1st was a potent Venus day (Friday). I don’t have any personal planets in Scorpio but I have some serious scorpio karma, as does everyone born around the same time (late ’84-early ‘86). When Saturn, Pluto, and the moon’s nodes were all hanging out there.

I guess we have shared lessons of intensity, overexposure vs hidden truths, and dealing with grief. Not that we are the only ones to experience these things, but maybe as a cohort we are faced with outmoded systems and are making attempts to break them down; grapple with their consequences and reject or apply them to our lives.

Does that make sense? I don’t know, lots of people have scorpio placements so maybe I’m full of shit and I only know people around my age. Either way, I feel that Scorpio karma very strongly, sharply in my life. I can’t deny my obsession with what is supposed to remain buried. If there is something I’m not supposed to know, then I want to know it (this doesn’t apply to culture’s that aren’t mine).

Digging deeper and looking for gems created under a lot of pressure, so much of what happens, happens out of sight. The majority of life is behind the scenes. I loved those Sesame Street segments where they take you to the factory and show you how crayons are made. I love finding out what the process is before the glossy and complete final product.

But it’s easy to get lost in those fixations and forget about the outcome. The outcome is also significant. As Madonna says, we are living in a material world. This is not the underworld. Esoteric knowledge is powerful and captivating but it doesn’t take out the trash. In too deep some might say.

This Scorpio full moon was good to me in a tangible way, though. Mostly because I was able to find something I had already given to someone else, so getting that wrapped up felt like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I guess sometimes the spiritual is substantial. It’s a balance that is very difficult to achieve!
